How to do it
- Choose the opening date first: in six months, in a year, on your birthday.
- Write to that person. Tell them where you are, what you hope for them, what you are afraid to forget.
- Seal it. You will not see it again before the date.
Why it works
We write differently when we know we cannot correct. The seal removes the temptation to reread and soften — and what you discover on opening is the distance travelled.
